Remnant Ministries

I am reminded of our Lord’s words in His Olivet discourse; “At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.  Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.  And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.  If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened”. Matthew 24:10-14,22

The author is counted among those that believe that the Olivet Discourse as written in Matthew 24 is directed not only at the Jew but the Gentile as well.  The Lord has promised to return which we refer to as the Second Advent of Christ.  Prior to His physical return to earth a period of seven years of testing and tribulation will take place which is described by the prophet Daniel particularly in chapters 7 and 9 of the book named after him.  The truth that Matthew 24 applies to the Gentile as well means in essence that the Church will experience the wrath of Satan during Daniel’s 70th week (during the 7 year period).

An element within the Christian community understand the verse concerning “the kingdom will be preached in the whole world” along with the admonitions in the book of Joel, that we should be preparing for a Great Revival, an end-time harvest beyond anything that we have seen to date. We read in Joel 2 that God is going to pour out His Spirit just prior to that great astronomical event, told in Matthew and Revelation; the sun turning dark, the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful Day of the Lord. John in Revelation 14:6 “sees another angel flying in midair, and he had the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth” At this point in the narrative, the saints have been taken up to be with the Lord as described in Matthew 24:31 and Revelation 6:12 immediately after the sign of the sun, moon, and stars. Revelation 14:6 does indeed speak of an end-time harvest, but it occurs within Daniel’s 70th week (7 year period) and it is not done by the hand of man but supernaturally through an angel. Is that not just like our Lord to give another chance for men to acknowledge their sin and come to Him on His terms!

Many of us and  I must add, I have certainly fallen into this category associate the word “revival” with i) numerical growth and, ii) a supernatural movement of the spirit.  However I have been fortunate in never having fallen into the trap of believing that manifestations of the Spirit mean that revival is actually happening.  People can fall down because of the presence of God and get back up with no heart transformation. People will be revived in their hearts only if they want to be and it is always a by-product of repentance. I see no Biblical support for God by-passing a person’s free-will no matter how difficult the times that may lie ahead.  We all naturally want revival without cost! Yes indeed, God is presently raising men and women, people who have been willing to bear  the cost  of brokenness,  humiliations, and stripping; people that Christ can truly manifest through to lead this revival. As has always been the case throughout history, this will be very uncomfortable for the church today as existing foundational paradigms which drive “churchianity” are shaken to the core; true revival will separate out a Remnant of people, a people  who will be able to stand in the tribulation that I believe  will come in  our generation. This is a move of God. It is confrontational and it is transformational. We either choose to align ourselves with what He is doing, and humbly ask what small part He wants us to play, or stay burdened by the self-made shackles of human religious effort.

Remnant Ministries is a “Last Days” ministry, preparing God’s people through preaching, teaching, restoration and prayer. Stay tuned for a teaching series on Daniel’s 70th Week.

The Roman Road

  • As it is written, there is none righteous, no not one. Romans 3:10
  • For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23
  • But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. Romans 5:8-9
  • Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned— Romans 5:12
  • For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23
  • That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:9,10
